DEPRESSION COURSE MAP
WEEK 1
In our first module, we define Depressive Disorders and introduce to the common characteristics of Depression.
Here we dive deeper into how symptoms of depression may be displayed as what is commonly seen as defiant behavior due to children's inability to articulate their feelings through language.
WEEK 2
We describe how symptoms of depression may present visually in the classroom, and how our emotional state can manifest itself in our physiological state.
In this module, we learn how depression may present differently in children than in adults.
WEEK 3
Dr. Brie Moore explains cognitive behavioral therapies and introduces us to strategies for the classroom.
In our final module, we learn the importance of understanding our school’s crisis plan and go-to person for discussing and escalating issues.
Congratulations on completing the EmpathED course on Depression.
